The School education department ( SED ) of Punjab has introduced a new training program for the teachers of Primary school with the name of Innovative Teacher Support Package ( ITSP ). The ITSP ( Innovative Teacher Support Package ) Will provide continuous Professional development (CPD ) training over the course of the year to develop professional skills in teachers.
The ITSP CPD is an LMS ( Learning management system ) available through an app and web portal. The CPD will be implemented through the assistant education officers ( AEOs ) who have already been provided training by Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development ( QAED ). QAED is responsible for providing teacher training programs across Punjab. The 3300 trained AEOs from QAED will further train the primary teachers.
The ITSP LMS for primary teachers training is developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board ( PITB ) to improve the classroom teaching practices. In the past year, AEOs were provided with a new classroom observation tool. This classroom observation tool has 11 indicators with which AEO used to observe the teaching practice of the teacher and provide feedback at the end of the lesson.
ITSP CPD is a blended approach in which teachers will learn and implement the techniques of teaching in the classroom. ITSP course is developed by QAED with support from Teach for Pakistan NGO and U.S. AID.
