What is virus-Difference between Coronavirus and other viruses-Types of coronavirus

Viruses are non-cellular infections particles.

Consisting only of the viral genes (RNA or DNA) enclosed in a proteinaceous coat.

Reproduced only in living cells.

Some Common Characteristic of Viruses

  • Viruses have a very small size they only can be seen in electron microscopy.
  • The size of the virus from 250nanometer ( 1nm = 10^-9) of poxviruses. 20nm of parvoviruses. These are chronic anemia virus.
  • They can’t grow on artificial media. They can be reproduced only in animals or plant cells.
  • They reproduced by replication.
  • They are the obligate intercellular parasite that can’t live without the host cell.
  • They lack metabolic machinery they use their host cell for all the functions.
  • They can’t store energy in the form of ATP so they use energy from the host cell.
  • They can cause disease in the host cell during reproduction.

Coronavirus Structure

Coronavirus is named for corona due to Spike present on his body. Coronavirus has a large family that can affect Birds, mammals including Humans according to the World Health Organization.

There main four sub-group of coronavirus alfa, beta, gamma, and delta.

Coronavirus is called zoonotic. It means they can transfer from an organism to other organisms through the air.

Coronavirus attacks on the respiratory system symptoms of that are cough, fever, shortness in breath.

Seven types of coronavirus that can affect humans are :

229E (alpha ), NL63 (alpha), OC43 (beta ), HKU1 (beta),

MERS-CoV (the beta coronavirus that causes MERS),

SARS-CoV (the beta coronavirus that causes SARS),

2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)

2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)

Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is the latest virus responsible for an outbreak in china December in 2019.

Treatment and prevent infection spread

There is not any treatment available yet for coronavirus infection in humans,, according to the CDC.

Some existing antiviral medicine can be used to treat N-coronavirus. These medicines can help in stopping the replication process in the host cell. There is another class of medicine show good result in stopping the growth of virus is “protease inhibitor”

To prevent the spread of infection

Regularly wash your hands. cover your mouth during sneezing and coughing, drink plenty of fluid and stay at home.
