How to Apply for Paper Rechecking in Punjab Boards (Matric and Inter)

BISE Lahore inter (HSSC) rechecking 2026

  • Opened: 24 September 2026
  • Deadline: 8 October 2026
  • Fee: Rs. 1,300 per subject
  • How: online application on the board’s website, then pay the fee

If your matric or intermediate result is lower than you expected, you can ask your board to recheck your answer papers. All nine Punjab boards (Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, DG Khan and Sahiwal) offer rechecking for a short period after each result.

What rechecking covers

Rechecking is not a full re-marking of your paper. The board usually checks that:

  • Every answer has been marked
  • Marks for each question have been added correctly
  • The total has been transferred correctly to the result
  • The answer book is actually yours

If a mistake is found, your marks are corrected and a revised result card is issued.

How to apply online

  1. Visit your board’s official website (for example, biselahore.com for BISE Lahore).
  2. Open the Rechecking section for the correct exam (SSC or HSSC, Part-I or Part-II).
  3. Enter your roll number and other details, then choose the subjects you want rechecked.
  4. Generate the fee challan and pay it at the designated bank or through the online payment options shown.
  5. Submit the application and keep a copy of the form and paid challan.
  6. Check the board’s website for the rechecking result or a date to appear in person if called.

Fee and deadlines

Board / exam Fee per subject Deadline
BISE Lahore – HSSC (inter) 2026 Rs. 1,300 8 October 2026
Other Punjab boards Usually about 15 days after the result. Check your board’s notice.

Should you apply?

  • Yes, if you scored far below your expectations in one or two subjects, or a subject shows absent when you sat the paper.
  • Think twice if you are only a few marks short. Rechecking rarely changes marks unless there is a counting or marking error.
  • If you want to raise your marks significantly, consider a marks improvement exam instead. See the new marks improvement rules.

Frequently asked questions

Can marks go down after rechecking?

If an addition error is found, marks are corrected either way. In practice most changes are increases from unmarked answers or counting errors.

How long does rechecking take?

Usually a few weeks. Boards post updates on their websites.
